Foundation Established
In 2005, HAFOL was founded in response to the increasing challenges faced by local communities, including poverty and environmental degradation. Our initial focus was on identifying key areas where intervention could have the greatest impact.Community Engagement

Faustinus Higwira (1939–2021) was a devoted Ugandan educator, author, and Catholic leader. Born in the Butaleja district, he studied at Mulagi Primary School, Makerere University, and Ggaba Major Seminar, where he later completed Theology in 1965. He later did his Master's in Education at Makerere University. Faustinus married Perpetua Takali in 1966, raising eight children and fostering many others.
Key Contributions:
- Education Leadership: Served as Head Teacher at Kapisa Primary School, Tutor at Nyondo Primary Teachers College, and Principal at Kamuli Primary Teachers College and Shimoni Primary Teachers College.
- Authorship: Wrote English textbooks for Ugandan primary schools.
- Entrepreneurship & Faith: Founded Habaale foundation, consulted with Kampala Arch Diocese, and was chairperson of Kyoga Foundation. He was also a member of Opus Dei’s Bugala Study Centre
- Legacy: Died on September 21, 2021, leaving a lasting impact on Uganda’s education and faith communities.
